SID is a Setcom company. Founded in 1998, Setcom (Pty) Ltd has extensive experience in online payment processing and security services. Businesses such as Kulula.com, Mango Airlines, Tsogo Sun, The AA, and many more count on us to provide a 24/7 enterprise-class infrastructure. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Setcom is often first to the market with innovative payment solutions. In 2004, we launched MonsterPay, the first person-to-person payment service in Africa. In 2007, we launched SID Instant EFT, a secure payment product that facilitates real-time online payments to e-commerce merchants through their customers’ existing Internet banking.

In 2012, Setcom partnered with Swish Payments to launch the first low-cost mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution in Hong Kong. The Swish mPOS solution utilises a mobile app and card reader to effectively convert a merchant’s smartphone or tablet into a credit card terminal, making it affordable for businesses of all sizes to accept card payments from virtually any location. The Swish payment solution will be made available to South African merchants in the near future.
